Resumo

ABSTRACT – This article aims to discuss the role of cultural criticism on the analysis and understanding of contemporaneousness. It starts from the concept of critical theory, which has ruled the epistemological scenario for such a long time, reaching the culturalist turn, when the concept of cultural criticism starts to be used continuoulsy. Thus, this work intends to settle, from the establishment of theoretically valid criteria, what could be the pertinent role for a cultural criticism that is the basis for possible interventions in the world of life.
