Resumo

This paper intends to examine how Jorge de Lima makes use of the myth of Orpheus and relates it to the Christian mysticism in his work Invenção de Orfeu. Jorge de Lima‟s poetry will give priority to the creation act which takes place in the way the poet uses
the divine inspiration originated from the Christian mysticism and the myth as a space of poetic elaboration as well.
